Billing accounts, workspaces, and projects

Use billing accounts for commercial ownership, workspaces for operational boundaries, and projects for scoped work.

Updated May 22, 2026

A billing account owns the plan and seats. Workspaces sit underneath the billing account. Projects sit inside a workspace and give teams a practical way to separate products, clients, environments, or operational workflows.

Choose boundaries

  1. 1Use one billing account for one commercial ownerFor a company, the billing account is the company-level commercial container. For an individual, it can start blank and be filled in later.
  2. 2Use workspaces for operational separationSeparate personal work, client work, or company teams when they should not share the same operational resource boundary.
  3. 3Use projects for focused accessCreate projects for products, apps, clients, environments, or workflows where members and agents need different access.
