Billing accounts, workspaces, and projects
Use billing accounts for commercial ownership, workspaces for operational boundaries, and projects for scoped work.
Updated May 22, 2026
A billing account owns the plan and seats. Workspaces sit underneath the billing account. Projects sit inside a workspace and give teams a practical way to separate products, clients, environments, or operational workflows.
Choose boundaries
- 1Use one billing account for one commercial ownerFor a company, the billing account is the company-level commercial container. For an individual, it can start blank and be filled in later.
- 2Use workspaces for operational separationSeparate personal work, client work, or company teams when they should not share the same operational resource boundary.
- 3Use projects for focused accessCreate projects for products, apps, clients, environments, or workflows where members and agents need different access.
